Artist: Travis Turqueza
Title: Night Watch
Medium: Acrylic on panel (unframed)
Size: 23 1/8" x 14 5/8"
Quote from the artist: "I've spent countless nights staring at the stars that our ancestors used to find their way to the place we call home. I often wonder what they saw in the sky as they crossed into the unknown.
If you stand with the painting pointing south, the night sky constellations will appear as in the painting.
Note the octopus, shark, whale, jellyfish, and honu figures hidden in the clouds.
