Title: The Cloud Mover
Medium: Original acrylic
Size: 17.5" x 13.5" x 2". Framed
Statement by Rachael: " I’ve been working with mainly hummingbirds as a subject matter, however I really wanted to paint a bluebird, or some form of it. The clouds came later, and in my imagination, I thought since the birds seem to rule the sky, why shouldn’t they be able to move the clouds around? The legend is that the birds could take away the dark clouds and bring light and joy to ones life. Birds symbolically represent spirits that watch over us, so in this sense the bird is a watcher and protector and brings the rain clouds from the Pacific to the islands for growth and nourishment for the people.”
