Marge was landed on a charter fishing trip off ofLāna‘i by a family who lives here, and by a very experienced Captain born and raised on island. Blue Marlin (Makaira mazara) are one of the top game fish sought after by anglers. They can often be found near schools of tuna feeding on them. Many fishermen use live tuna as bait, but Marge was caught with only a lure. The captain called me over after the trip and we struggled to print this 180 pound fish in the wind! Marge fed several families including the captain’s, crews’, and the family who reeled her in. This is a special embellished reproduction of the original, created as a framed triptych.
