One-of-a-kind Native Hawaiian Koa wood bowl, by master wood turner Dr. Craig Mason. The Kou tree grew on Mokapu peninsula on Oahu. It was removed because it grew too close to the road and threatened traffic. Dr. Mason saved this wood from the chipper.
Dr. Mason has been working with wood for more than 32 years, and uses only reclaimed wood...he never purchases wood or cuts down trees.
