Title:Sacred Fig Wood Knitting Bowl
Material: Sacred Fig wood
Size: 7 1/2" tall x 7 1/2" wide
One-of-a-kind teak wood bowl, by master wood turner Dr. Craig Mason. The Sacred Fig tree originated on the Indian subcontent, and is significant to the three world relides Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism. It is believed to be the specie of tree under which Buddha sat when he attained enlightenment. This particular tree grew wild on a farm near Wahiawa, and grew too large for the space it was in, so it needed to be removed.
Dr. Mason has been working with wood for more than 32 years, and uses only reclaimed wood...he never purchases wood or cuts down trees.
