I painted this colorful fellow in Campbell Park adjacent to Lahaina's historic Baldwin House during the Paint Maui plein air festival. No, the rooster didn't pose for me, but I scattered mini chocolate chip cookies around my easel to keep him close. The way he strutted around the park made me think that this guy was truly "The King Of Front Street"! (see photo of me with my "model") This was painted in February 2023--6 months later the buildings in the background were gone.
